Lorna Byrne is an international bestselling author of Angels in my Hair, Stairways to Heaven, A Message of Hope from the Angel, and Love from Heaven. Her books chronicle her incredible life story marked with her unusual ability to see angels with the same clarity as people. Lorna has recently visited the APA projects in Ethiopia which are supported through ‘The Lorna Byrne Children’s Foundation’ and we are confident will continue through the coming years.
John Hume is a a global figure and Irish former politician from Derry, Northern Ireland. He was the co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1998 and is regarded as one of the most instrumental members of the Northern Irish peace process. John is also the recipient of the Ghandi Peace Prize and the Martin Luther King Award, as well as being named ‘Ireland’s Greatest’ in 2010. A great thinker and humanitarian, we are honoured that John Hume is among our patrons and he has been our great insperation and wittnesses the ideals of APA when he says, 'Difference is an accident of birth therefore it should never be the source of hatred or conflict, it should be the source of respect. A Partnership for Africa crossess all barriers, real or imagined; to cobat a crisis of unprecedented emergency, a world united can make a difference.'
Brian Kerr is a former Irish football manager, and coach. He is currently widely known for his work as a co-commentator for RTÉ Sport, TV3 and Setanta Sports. While manager of the League of Ireland side St. Patrick’s when the club was facing liquidation, Kerr was among the investors who raised IR£82,000 to help save the club. This spirit of generosity and commitment to communty is very welcome at APA to draw attention to the work of APA in Ethiopia and Tanzania. We are very greatful to have him as a patron.
