Board Members
Fr. Owen LambertFr. Owen was born in West Wicklow, near Knockananna village and went to local NS, Hacketstown and to Blackrock, graduated from UCD in 1968 and from Maynooth College and Kimmage Development Study Centre in 1974. After ordination he took up work in Gamo Gofa, South West Ethiopia in same year and remained there until the end of 2000. After extensive experience developing and maintaining and integrated approach to the HIV/AIDS pandemic during his over 30 years in Ethiopia and Tanzania, Fr. Owen founded APA (then AIDS Partnership with Africa) in Ireland.

Vyara Panova Vyara is a qualified accountant and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Vyara has over 17 years of experience in the financial services sector and held a number of senior managerial positions, including 15 years of experience as an external auditor in KPMG where she audited and advised large domestic and international regulated clients and presented results at Board and Audit Committee meetings. Vyara has also been a co-founder member of the senior management team of an international non-profit organisation for the last 10 years. Vyara is a member of the Board of A Partnership with Africa since 2016.

Aidan CliffordAodán Ó’Clúmháin (Aidan Clifford) as former director of the CDETB Curriculum Development Unit (CDU) (1999-2016), supported a wide range of regional, national and international education interventions, in the post-primary and further education sector, including democratic citizenship,human rights, intercultural dialogue, peace and reconciliation, gender equality and sustainability and other interventions that addressed both the effects and root causes of education disadvantage Locally and globally. Aodán (2000-2026) represents Ireland at the Council of Europe promoting the culture for democratic citizenship and human rights and is currently a bureau member of the Council of Europe Education Policy Advisors Network (EPAN). From 2006 he was a member of the Dept. of Education first and second National Strategy on Education for Sustainable Development steering group and currently serves on its advisory group for schools. He was a member both of the STEM and the Arts advisory panel (2019-2023) and the DE Teacher Artist Partnership design team (2017- 2021). Aodán was a member of the Department of Foreign Affairs the Development Education Advisory Committee (2010-2012), the Irish Aid (IA) Expert Advisory Panel (2013-2015) and a member of the GENE reference group evaluating IA’s development education programme(2014-2015). He co-chaired (2013-2024) the IA funded WorldWise Global Schools consortium focusing on global citizenship in post-primary schools. He served (2018-2025) as chairperson of the Irish Network for Education Worldwide (INEW). He is a founder member and trustee (2014-2021) of Encountering the Arts Ireland and has supported a number of Poetry Ireland’s education activities. Aodán served as a director (2017-2023) of Educate Together and is currently a member of their education committees. He has engaged in various reviews and evaluations of programmes, courses, studies and institutions. Aodán is a member of the board of APA since 2016 and serves on the education, finance and
organisational review committees. |
Past Board Members
Marian LambertMarian has approximately 30 years of experience living and working in Ethiopia and Tanzania. As Director of APA's primary partner organisation, CVM, Marian has an expertise in project management and monitoring, reporting and evaluation. Given her extensive knowledge and network in East Africa, Marian provides an invaluable support through the monitoring of APA and CVM's joint projects. Marian has been a board member since 2003.
