Our Philosophy
Our BeliefAt APA, we believe in the rights of all people to live with dignity and freedom. We believe that it is the responsibility of people everywhere to value the common humanity which binds us all together and support the wellness of one another.
|
Our ModelAPA operates entirely within a partnership model. We believe that sustainable change occurs when it is driven by local people who define their own challenges and create their own solutions through existing structures and institutions. As a result, project implementation is carried out by the upskilled local people who are facilitated by the local government and project team.

Partnership
Our key implementing partner is Comunita Volontari per il Mondo (CVM), an Italian NGO which operates in Ethiopia and Tanzania. Both APA and CVM have a long history and vast network in the regions within which they work. Because of the mutual trust that has been built over decades, APA and CVM are able to effectively implement projects with the support of local and national institutions. In this way, we are able to maximise impact without duplicating our efforts. Click the link below to learn more about our partnerships. |
APA also invites volunteers and communities in Ireland into partnership with its efforts abroad by establishing Charity Shops. The volunteer networks which operate APA's Charity Shops facilitate a system of global partnership in which concerned citizens can contribute to the support and protection of their brothers and sisters abroad.
